Apple claims 300 million iPhone downloads from App Store

Apple has said in US newspaper advertisements that a whooping 300 million apps have been downloaded from its App Store since July 2008.
The ads, which came out in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, were said to have highlighted some of the iPhone applications.
Apple also confirmed that the number of apps available in the online store has breached the 10,000 mark.
Apple’s App Store opened in July with only about 500 apps.
