Apple Give One solution for this errors
The basic problem was that the downloaded iTunes 2.0 software, and somehow, that the file has been corrupted during the download. iTunes was trying repeatedly to install this corrupt file. You can fix the problem, you have to get rid of that old file, which is forcing iTunes, download it again. This is what I did:
1) disconnect the phone from your computer.
2) hold down the top button, and home-button until the phone goes out and starts up again. You should see the USB cable and iTunes icons.
3) on your computer, go to the folder where the new 2.0-software is located: Users / YourUserName / library / iTunes / iPhone Software (if you are using a PC this file is located somewhere else)
4) drag the file (s) out of that folder, the Desktop. My picture was called iPhone1, 1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw.
5) to close iTunes.
6) Connect your phone into a computer. iTunes should open up and tell you to return the phone.
7) to follow the instructions. The iTunes download the 2.0-software again.
When all goes well, remove, that the file is withdrawn from your desktop.
I found other solution for Other activation Problems in iPhone
Since about 30 folks in our office all have 1st gen iPhones and were all having problems with the 2.0 upgrade this morning, I sent out a mass email offering a $100 bounty to anyone who could figure our an activation workaround. One of our IT guys figured out a way to activate the 1st gen iPhone post-2.0 firmware ugrade. I thought perhaps he got lucky, and before coughing up the $100, we all tried it, and were successful in getting our phones unbricked.
Step 1 - Reboot you PC.
Step 2 - Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
Step 3 - Plug your iPhone into your PC via the USB cable
Step 4 - On your PC, open up wordpad, notepad or Microsoft word. There is an alpha code you are going to need to write down, which is critical in the final step to complete the registration process.
Step 4 - Launch iTunes
Step 5 - Wait for the Error message stating “We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection timed out”.
Step 6 - Look at the screen on your iPhone. If there is a message alternating (in several languages) on the slider bar saying “slide for emergency”, open up Notepad or Word, and type “I-A-M”
Step 7 - Be sure to save the file in notepad or word, but DO NOT CLOSE IT…leave it open, we’ll be referring to it again in a second.
Step 8 - Look at your iPhone screen again, if there is an “i” in italicized font, inside a small cirle…open up your notepad or word file again. This time, where you left off on the first three characters of the service alpha code, type “ADOU”.
Step 9 - Go back to your iPhone screen. This time, move the slider bar with your index finger to access the “emergency call” screen. If the keypad comes up, go back to your notepad or word file, and where you left off on the alpha service code, type “CHE”.
Step 10 - With the emergency call screen still open and keypad visible, type the following number on the keypad of your iPhone - “8,9,#,8,*,9,5,#,7,*,#” (Note # is the pound key and * is the star key)
Step 11 - (Final Step, you’re almost there!) - Wait for your iPhone screensaver to come back on. Once it comes back on, and the keypad/emergency dial screen is no longer visible, go back to your notepad or word file. Where you left off previously on the alpha service code, type “BAG”.
